International Property Award win for Grande Design

Grande Design scooped the award for Interior Design Private Residence – Hong Kong at the 2019 International Property Awards for the Asia Pacific region. The International Property Awards, judged by a team of highly experienced professionals, recognise achievement at the highest level across all sectors of the property and real estate industry. They are a world-renowned mark of industry excellence. 

The 2019 International Property Awards ceremony for Asia Pacific was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Grande Designs team was represented by Matthew Li, Founder and Creative Director, and Maggy Cheung, Art Director, who attended the glittering awards dinner.

Since the winning property was small, the team focused on creating a feeling of spaciousness using a European-inspired colour palette of blue and green. The designers breathed new life and a modern look into a property that had become dated and dark. The result was a light and bright aesthetic, achieved using marble and grey-white kitchenware, wooden flooring, marble flourishes and neutral-coloured soft furnishings. The use of space was also carefully considered: the kitchen was redesigned to be semi-open and, following European design cues, a ‘sunken space’ was created in the wall for the television – a feature usually reserved for fireplace design.
